The Destroyer
The reading is really getting to its climax. At the beginning of the reading Hank and Dagny were separated because they both had to pull themselves together before seeing each other again. Hank encounters Ragnar who tells him about an underground bank and how he is taking away from the looters for his clients. Later on in the story, the Taggart Comet reaches an obstacle and cannot move forward until the next morning, Kip Chalmers, whom was on the train, throws a fury and threatens them if the train does not start running again before morning. Many workers are called to this, and I feel that the decision to send a coal-burning engine is made because of the rashness of people in that time in their society, since nobody can really think straight. Another thing that sticked out to me is that Francisco really returns to Dagny this time, only to find Hank arrive a little bit later and the two finally confront each other. Francisco admits to being in love with Dagny, but Dagny remains with Hank. When Dagny hears about the horrible train crash, she goes back to Taggart Transcontinental, which shows that even though she has quit she truly cannot stay away, even if it means getting her into trouble. The reading finally reveals who John Galt is, and he might apparently be the "destroyer" that Dagny is looking for. I am eager to find out, in the next reading, if John Galt is actually the destroyer and if he will show up in the story.
