I found this week's reading of Atlas Shrugged to be very interesting. Dagny's character is fully revealed, the John Galt line is built, and Dagny and Hank begin an affair. I think Dagny's decision to break off of Taggart Transcontinental and begin her own railroad was an extremely brave decision, and it gave me all he more reason to admire her more than I already did. I think her willpower and fearlessness is truly remarkable. In my opinion, choosing the name "John Galt Line" and having a press conference are just further exhibitions of her blunt and defying personality, because she literally said she is making the railroad to make money and that she chose the name to prove that she can do the unimaginable. Fortunately for her, the railroad departed on July 22 and it was a huge success. I was not very shocked about her making this decision - it is not something that would be out of her character. I was also not surprised about Hank and Dagny beginning an affair. They both have similar determined personalities and Hank always said that together they would be able to prosper in the business. I was almost expecting then to have an affair. Another thing that stood out to me from this week's reading is Eddie's humbleness and Jim's fakeness. Eddie said that he felt bad taking Dagny's VP position and takings all her credit, even though she was okay with it. James, on the other hand, pretended to support his sister in public but shows his true feelings of resentment when he speaks with Cherryl.
