Polar Opposites - Dagny and Jim

Dagny and Jim may be brother/sister by genetic makeup, but they are complete contrasts of each other by almost every aspect of their personalities, thought processes, and emotional attachments. Jim, the president of Taggart Transcontinental, is a very indecisive man who has no ability to run the company. He is a peddler who sells all but his company to his friends. And, oftentimes he doesn't make the right decision, one example being the steel used to repair the tracks. Jim always consults Dagny in order to leave her liable in case any of her decisions fail. Jim is the epitome of a "fatcat". Dagny, on the other hand, is a proactive, business-smart girl who sees the corruption and the injustice of the society that she lives in. She's a serious woman and an even more serious businesswoman, who since childhood has always planned to run Taggart Transcontinental. She practically does, overriding Jim's authority in order to make the best business choices. However, it is ironic how she is a superior to Jim in every way but one; her rank in the company. I find it funny how she is able to keep Taggart Transcontinental afloat, but is unable to actually take the credit on her actions due to Jim's own corruption. In the end, I believe that Dagny Taggart and Jim Taggart are the antitheses of each other.
