Dagny, her personality, and her decisions

Throughout the next three chapters of Atlas Shrugged, there have been specific actions taken by Dagny that prove that she is the smarter of the siblings. She first started with her decision to use the Rearden metal alloy, which occurred in the first two chapters. Although not other company uses it, she believed that with her studies in the field, the alloy would work. This proved to be a good idea when they need to put up the Rio Norte line in nine months instead of twelve, and Rearden says it is possible. She leaves him with a sense of joy that someone can understand him and that they are similar. I believe that they are more similar than they know. In these chapters, we learn more about Dagny Taggart. She wants Dan Conway to fight against the act that will cease his company, one in which her brother took part of, and when he says that he will not she did not want to compete against him. He personality would not let her take advantage of him. She would feel as if she was stealing, and did not ant to feel that she gained profit and influence due to this. This shows that a revolutionary woman in that time period still follows what she believes to be right and wrong. I admire her for this. She does not let anyone influence her actions, she is independent and has strong beliefs. These are characteristics that most women of the time did not have, and some women still do not obtain.
